Two Years

It's almost pathetic to celebrate anniversaries of any kind before the 5-year mark.  It just doesn't seem very triumphant, you know?  However, regardless of how many years we have or haven't been married, this anniversary was killer!  The kind of 'I seriously never knew I could be this happy' kind of kill.

Granted.  The fact that I have had back to back trips to NYC and Austin, TX prior to our 25 hours of babyless bliss (thank you grandma and grandpop and g-aunt corrine), probably created a 'nothing could sink this anniversary trip' context.

What did we do?  We spent 25 hours together without e. We ate lunch at the Olive Garden and ordered two desserts.  We shopped in Gettysburg until we wanted to stop.  But not before we bought matching accessories, ridiculous I know, but us.  We checked into a fabulous historic bed and breakfast inn (Antrim 1844).  We readied ourselves for hors d'oeuvres and drinks at 6:30pm.  We ate seven courses until 9:30pm.  We rolled back to our private Ice House accommodation.  We woke to Christian rock, by accident--probably a sick practical joke from previous residents.  We recovered our breakfast from our mailbox.  Dressed for proper breakfast. Properly breakfasted. Began the journey back to e, back to reality, back to the day to day.

A perfect 25 hours.

The truth is, i have never been so in love with joe as i am now.  I have a feeling these 25 hours are going to sustain me through quite a bit...like in 5 months when I am wondering why in the world I ever agreed to have another baby and go down that ride again.
