This touched me tremendously.
The first time I went to a Killers concert, I was more musically taken by Keane who opened. That was a great night. I still wear my concert t-shirt to remind me of the good time--I pair it with a collared pink geometric print silk shirt. I feel hard-core, modest and age-appropriate all at the same time.
*smile*
Brandon's journey is beautiful. It illustrates the central concept of my life--people can change, our belief in God (a testimony) evolves as we experience.
Thanks, Kasey for sharing this, thus bringing a more profound meaning to my neckless, sleeveless, gray with pink lettering Killers concert tee.

Hey Mom, do these look familiar?

Was I at that concert too? I think maybe. I hope so. I saw this today as well and Cory and I agree wholeheartedly. Gotta respect someone doing the best they can and being unwilling to turn their back on their beliefs even when they struggle.
ReplyDeleteyes you were. another BIG reason i wear that shirt. i kinda miss you. also, did you notice i was wearing it when you visited ;)
ReplyDeleteI loved this for exactly the reason you did! Our faith isn't for perfect people, and we all should be as candid and honest about it as Brandon. WE can believe and trust in the Lord and strive, knowing that we will fall short. AND THAT IS OKAY! There is a fire inside. I just loved this.
ReplyDeleteThere was another great video from a mother on mormon.org. She talked about how she doesn't love motherhood everyday and she struggled with postpartum depression. I loved the humility and faith she showed as she came to terms with her own challenges and how her faith in the Lord helps her not overcome her depression, but manage it and understand it. I can't remember her name, but I just love all those videos. XOXOXOXO
