Worms

Sometimes, when I have the girls on a Friday or Saturday night, we go for a treat at the store. This past Saturday, we went our local grocery store which has a large selection of fun, traditional candies. The girls both choose gummy worms.

As we were getting back into the car, I was helping e understand what a 'dent' was, with the hope that she would be more careful when opening her door in a parking lot. We said the word so many times that h took it to mean, 'gummy worms'. She kept holding her bag in the air and saying "den! den!". I tried to explain to her that the real word was 'worms'.

e took up the explanation by stating that the worms were not real and that it was perfectly okay to eat them. She told h that she had nothing to worry about. Then there was a bit of a pause as e thought about what she had just explained before she said "...they catch them and turn them into candy".

Satisfied with her explanation she turned to her own bag of worms.
