Rags to Riches

Dearest tayes' came to visit.
I like to think they coincidentally saw their families while they were here to see us. ;)
Almost two years ago I purchased fabric at Ikea for $2.99/yard. Heavy, upholstery, canvas gorgeousness.
At the time I lived in Takoma Park, MD.
Visions, strike that, delusions of grandeur.
When A-prime walked into my living room in Mapleton, UT and there sat the untouched couch, I knew what she would "make" me do.
We spent a mad 24 hours cutting, sewing piping, and confirming strategies. When she left I had salvaged zippers from cushions ready for install, cut fabric ready for piecing, and confidence to complete the job. Every spare minute I have, I work on it--about 20 minutes 3-4 times a week.
I haven't taken pictures quite yet, so I'll include a shot of the skirts we made from one of my old skirts whose waist had lost the elastic (years ago...I am somewhat of an acknowledged hoarder)...

Aren't good friends that push us to do and be what we dream of doing and being just lovely?
