Last Sunday was the big event!
We had all of e's favorite foods/beverages:
-noodles
-avocado
-smoothies
-stewp (soup/stew)
and she tried her hand at BIRTHDAY CAKE. The child is a serious pro--she ate all but a very small portion of her dairy-free, gluten-free, everythingexceptsugarthankfully-free cake. Obvious first-time parents that we are, we gave her a HUGE piece. ...oops... No one was willing to negotiate any release terms with the birthday girl, thus, she was hopped up on happiness and sugar the rest of the evening.
We kept the party simple--opening with a slide show marking her growth this last year, eating, having cake, and then opening her gifts. She took no interest in opening her gifts, but solidly played with each and every one as Mom opened them.
A special day for all.
Her bib says 'Monkey See, Monkey Do.'
Double-fisting the smoothies.
Taking a break, getting ready for cake time!
Mmmm...this is delicious.
An absolute pro holding and eating her cake.
Mom, look I got a skunk.
